Do you know the Planai, the famous World Cup downhill in Schladming? Just before the finish, right on the slopes and with (and we're not exaggerating) the most beautiful sunset view in the entire region Schladming-Dachstein Here we are: the woodcutter – the charming house on the mountain.

We like things charming, cozy, casual, and easy—in short, uncomplicated. We've packed this feeling into four brand-new, truly casually furnished, and super cozy apartments. Each apartment features a sauna and terrace or balcony, breakfast service, and personality—because we think "real" hospitality is really cool. And right on our doorstep? The slopes, the hiking trail, and the downhill trail start.

Stories

Perhaps you already know us? For almost 50 years, we were the "Holzhackerstube" on the Planai in Schladming. Our excellent cuisine made us famous. Sometimes we can hardly believe how many people we've cooked for.
Now we're starting a new chapter, because life has taught us not to wait for "someday." I, Sylvia – your hostess, am fulfilling my dream of a charming apartment building. I'll make you an excellent breakfast every day and, with a warm welcome, I'm happy to be there if you need anything.

It's simple: sauna, location, service! We have three trump cards that are guaranteed to win you over.
1. Each apartment has a large, private sauna just for you and your loved ones.
2. Right next to the slopes, the hiking trail, the downhill trail, and all around, the Dachstein mountains. In good weather, the sun sets behind them in indescribably beautiful and vibrant colors.
3. You'll be completely on your own, but not alone. We prepare breakfast daily and, if you wish, tidy up in between, and we appreciate the conviviality in the good, old parlor with its tiled stove.
